The program will be geared towards beginners, and will be offered completely free of charge. More information on the program can be found by following the link above.

BLACK TOP STREET HOCKEY

Black Top Street Hockey (BTSH) is a co-ed adult street hockey league which plays in Tompkins Sq. Park, in Manhattan, New York City, NY. The league was formed by 7 teams in 2000 by a small group of indie rockers and creative people who valued the social and community aspects of the league as much as they did playing hockey — maybe even more so!

Since the early days the league has changed considerably, moving from the remote Corlears Hook Park to bustling Tompkins Sq. Park in 2009, and growing over that time to 20 teams and almost 500 members. But the spirit of non-aggressive hockey, inclusion of novice players, volunteerism & charity, participation of women and a strong sense of community prevail.

For more information on the league’s history, schedule, or to find out how to join, just follow the links.

MOFO HOCKEY

The Mofo Hockey League is an adult league playing ball hockey (in sneakers – not on wheels) at Moffo Rink in Tanahey Park in the Two Bridges neighborhood of lower Manhattan, New York City, NY (near the South Street Seaport). The league plays by USA Hockey Rules (as apply to a non-ice surface) with some modifications, and is officiated by professional USA Hockey registered referees. There is NO CHECKING allowed. Mofo seeks to provide a highly skilled game without aggression. Fighting is strictly prohibited and is grounds for expulsion from the league. Both men and women are welcome to join. Mofo is looking to add and INDOOR location for winter months, in addition to the outdoor location. For more information, follow the link above.
